The Westbank Cemetery, located at 3200 Elliott Road, was established in 1925. The cemetery is the traditional resting place for community families and pioneers.
The cemetery is 8.2 acres in size. In 2014, West Kelowna invested $300,000 in the first phase of improvements, transforming the Westbank Cemetery from dry land (sand and gravel) into a green, park-like setting in keeping with the standards of many modern cemeteries. More than 3,500 shrubs and trees were planted in spring and summer 2014 as part of the initial upgrade project. In fall 2014, a new information kiosk and parking lot fencing were installed. A detailed design and construction is underway for the next phase of Westbank Cemetery improvements. All improvements are being designed to serve the community's needs for the next 25 years.
Also part of Phase 1 Improvements were the installations of mausoleums and columbaria at the southeast corner of the cemetery. These stone and marble structures were situated to capture the beautiful views of Okanagan Lake and the Monashee Mountains beyond. Benches and landscaping were added to create a place of remembrance, peace, reflection and solitude for cemetery goers.

Upgrades are oultined in an October 23, 2012 report to Mayor and Council:
In total, the City of West Kelowna will construct up to three mausoleums and up to three columbaria for sales to the public. Revenue generated will be put directly towards cemetery improvements and capital construction. Future plans include further improvements to the landscaping of the cemetery, to complete the process of transforming the once dry sand and gravel cemetery into a green, park-like setting. In 2012, considerable public consultation went into the creation of the Council-directed Westbank Cemetery Strategy, which called for a graduated improvement to the municipally owned facility. For a copy of the strategy, please contact Municipal Hall at 778-797-1000.
