What about waste and recycling collection?

The facility will be open the usual Friday through Monday period once again starting January 5, 2018.
Where do I take my Christmas tree and old lights?
Live Christmas trees can be dropped off for free for chipping via the Westside Residential Waste Disposal and Recycling Centre on Asquith Road, during regular business hours. The centre is typically open Friday through Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. but will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Please ensure tinsel, lights and decorations are removed from trees. Artificial trees are considered waste. They can be taken to the centre for disposal and usual tipping fees will apply.
Strings of old Christmas lights must be taken to the Boucherie Bottle Depot at 2711 Kyle Road or Planet Earth Recycling at 1400 Industrial Road.
