Date: 2/22/2013 - 3/6/2013

Memorial Park Plan - Header Graphic

The District of West Kelowna is creating a plan that will recommend upgrades at Memorial Park, located adjacent to Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre, in Westbank Centre. The Memorial Park Plan will focus specifically on improving existing outdoor spaces at Memorial Park and enhancing Music in the Park programming.

As part of the planning process, the municipality asked the community to participate in a short survey to share impressions of the park today and ideas for the future. The Memorial Park Plan Ideas Survey, closed March 6, 2013.

The survey is now closed.

Thank you for participating.

Community members will have the opportunity to provide input on proposed directions for the Memorial Park Plan at the Brown Road Streetscape and Memorial Park Improvement Public Open House:

Westbank Lion's Community Hall

Memorial Park (formerly Westbank Community Park) is a gathering place for key cultural events in the District of West Kelowna including:

  • Westside Daze festivities;
  • Annual Canada Day celebrations; and,
  • Music in the Park.

Memorial Park also features a skateboard park, connections to trails and a playing field.

Memorial Park upgrades are a key component in the District of West Kelowna's ongoing efforts to vitalize Westbank Centre. Council has established Westbank Centre Vitalization as one of its 2013 Strategic Priorities. The District of West Kelowna will, "accelerate development of the Westbank Centre and provide vitalization improvements through investment." A key objective would be to, "establish Westbank Centre as the social, cultural and civic heart of the community."
