Highlights of the October 30, 2012 Special Meeting with Peachland Council
West Kelowna Council provided information to Peachland Mayor and Council on topics of mutual interest:
Informal Review of Regional District of Central Okanagan Services – West Kelowna advised Peachland of its intention to request that the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) initiate an informal review of the District of West Kelowna’s terms of participation in Economic Development and Regional Planning and that the RDCO initiate discussions aimed at facilitating the District’s withdrawal from the following services:
Westbank Centre Revitalization - West Kelowna Council advised Peachland Council of its interest in enhancing the viability of the Westbank Centre area as envisioned in the District’s Westbank Centre Revitalization Plan. The Highway 97 couplet that currently intersects the downtown core was discussed and Peachland Councillors were advised that West Kelowna continues to lobby the Provincial Government for the reconfiguration of the couplet.
Westside Health Centre – Peachland indicated its interest in supporting West Kelowna’s efforts to investigate options for securing a Westside Health Centre.
