Have Fun Out on the Ice this Family Day

West Kelowna is offering Stick 'n Puck events at  Jim Lind Arena in celebration of the first Family Day in British Columbia.

The District of West Kelowna's Recreation and Culture Department has organized three Stick 'n Puck sessions on Monday, February 11:

  • 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.; kids five to seven years old;
  • 12:45 – 1:45 p.m.; kids eight to 10 years old; and,
  • 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.; youth 11 – 14 years old.

Stick 'n puck is $2.25 per person.

The District of West Kelowna wishes everyone a safe and happy Family Day holiday.

For those who are unfamiliar with Stick 'n Puck, the event is open ice time for hockey and ringette players - whether they're part of a club or just love the game. Children and teens can lace up the skates, put on gloves and a helmet, grab a stick and puck and hit the rink for some informal practice time. Youth can brush up on their skating, passing or stick handling skills and take shots on the open nets. Sometimes, if goalies show up with their equipment, kids can also try to brush up on their scoring techniques.
