Council Committees

West Kelowna Council is seeking members to join a Public Outreach Steering Committee to act as a review panel and sounding boaard to advise District staff and its consultant on the draft Water Master Plan.

The Committee will consist of five to seven members of the West Kelowna community with a strong interest in the District's Water Master Plan. Areas of experience that will be sought include:

• Agricultural community representative
• Non-agricultural community representative
• Former irrigation district representatives
• Business owner representative
• Community at large

The committee will be established by May 2013 and is expected to complete its objectives by November 2013.

Interested members of the public are asked to complete an application form and submit it to the District of West Kelowna by the deadline of 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013. Completed application forms can be faxed to 778-797-1001, emailed to info@districtofwestkelowna.ca or dropped off at Municipal Hall, 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna.

The Advisory Planning Commission (APC) has been established to provide information and feedback to District of West Kelowna Council and staff on issues concerning the public and the municipality related to land use and community planning. The commission’s role is to provide input to Council on matters relating to Official Community Plan Amendments, Zoning Bylaw Amendments, and Temporary Commercial and Industrial Use Permits in the District of West Kelowna.

The Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) has been established to assist District of West Kelowna staff and Council in protecting, enhancing and promoting agriculture within the District of West Kelowna. The Committee’s role is to provide input to Council on land use and economic development matters with respect to agriculture, and to act as a liaison between Council and the agribusiness community.
