Weeds cannot be eliminated, only controlled. The municipality's goal is to reduce weeds and grasses to:
-
Eliminate safety issues for pedestrians
-
Improve traffic visibility
-
Maintain landscapes and plantings in the vicinity of municipally owned parking lots, civic buildings and developed parks
-
Prevent damage to asphalt road surfaces
-
Prevent damage to sports fields
HOW YOU CAN HELP
The District of West Kelowna' Good Neighbour Bylaw requires property owners and residents to maintain the boulevard(s) and lanes adjacent to their property.
The municipality does not provide expansive weed control service and does not include any funds in the budget for such work.
Thank you for helping the District of West Kelowna control weeds and grasses.
